The action in Verkhovna Rada to support families of Crimean Tatar political prisoners is aimed at encouraging the authorities to take further actions for de-occupation of Crimea. This was stated by Ukrainian MP Refat Chubarov to 112 Ukraine journalists.
"We hope that this day (Day of Crimea in Verkhovna Rada - Ed.) will stimulate the authorities, first of all, the President, with regard to our future actions that will lead to de-occupation of the Crimea", he said.
At the same time Chubarov himself is going to raise the issue of reformatting the Crimean status from the rostrum of parliament.
In addition, according to Chubarov, he expects the speach of lawyer Nikolai Polozov, who is engaged in cases of Crimean political prisoners. "I think Polozov will speak at a special event to be held here in Verkhovna Rada premises, but do not think it will be a tribune. But all our events will be attended by journalists", he said.
