“A historical day. We welcome the approval of constitutional changes by the Ukrainian Parliament that concern reforms in the judiciary. A big step forward on Ukraine’s European path”, Geoffrey Pyatt tweeted on Thursday. The U.S. Ambassador added that Washington was ready to support implementation and further work to turn the judiciary into an independent, reporting and effective entity.
On June 2, the Ukrainian Parliament passed the law about submitting changes to the Constitution regarding the judiciary. The bill was supported by 335 MPs, with 300 necessary to pass the document.
