U.S. president Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin met in Paris at the events timed to the centenary of the ending of the First World War. TASS reported that on Monday morning.
The two leaders managed to talk to each other at a working lunch for the world's heads of states, after the solemn ceremony held in the French capital.
'Today at lunch, the President sat with President Macron, Chancellor Merkel, and President Putin, and many other world leaders. The leaders discussed a variety of issues, including the INF (nuclear treaty), Syria, trade, the situation in Saudi Arabia, sanctions, Afghanistan, China and North Korea,' White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.
The Russian and the American presidents had their chance to shake hands before the march near Arc de Triomphe. Putin shook hands with Trump, Macron and Merkel, and then gave Trump a thumbs-up, followed by a mutual pat on the back.
