Russian president Vladimir Putin will not be meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on April 11; this meeting is not on his agenda for today, said Dmytro Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader. According to the Russian media, the actual meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, April 12.
Earlier, 112 International also reported that Tillerson himself cancelled his meeting with Putin.
Tillerson’s working visit to Russia begins today; one of the assumed purposes of his visit is to present evidence that the U.S. is aware that Russia knew about preparations for the chemical attack in Syria, but the Kremlin tried to conceal it.
Boris Johnson, the British Foreign Minister, also intended to visit Moscow for negotiations with Russia’s top officials; however, he canceled the visit due to the escalation in Syria.
