American President Donald Trump adheres to the position of illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian side. Russian president Vladimir Putin claimed this during the joint briefing after the meeting in Helsinki. The meeting was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

‘The Trump’s position about Crimea is known, he adheres to it. He speaks of illegal annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation. We have a different point of view on this. We think that we have undertaken the referendum in strict compliance with the international law of the United Nations Charter. For us, for the Russian Federation, this matter is closed. That’s it,’ he said.

As it was reported earlier, Donald Trump described his one-on-one meeting with the Russian President Putin as a “good start."

Trump made the brief remarks in front of reporters, at a conference table surrounded by top officials at the start of a “working lunch” that began after he and Putin met behind closed doors for two hours with only their interpreters.

According to the schedule, further, the talks are to be held in an expanded membership. It will take an hour and 45 minutes.
