Russian leader Vladimir Putin supports the peace plan of settlement of the conflict in Donbas, offered by Viktor Medvedchuk, the Head of the political council of Opposition Platform - For Life party. The politician said this after the meeting with Putin in St. Petersburg. Prior to that, he came to Strasbourg to present this peace plan at the European Parliament.
"Recently, at our meeting in Moscow, when we met with the delegation of United Russia, he also confirmed that he supported the peace plan. This is what Mr. Putin actually did today, when he confirmed that we accept the peaceful initiatives and stand for the peace plan offered by Opposition Platform - For Life because he knows that this plan is based on Minsk agreements", he said.
Medvedchuk also said, which details of the plan were of special interest to Putin.
"In fact, I told Putin certain details that he was interested in when the talks with him continued. Lukashenko also was interested in it (...) he is a well-known peacekeeper. Besides, he repeatedly offered his assistance to restore peace, to maintain peacekeeping missions between Ukraine and Russia. This was the key thing at the meeting", he said.
