Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Normandy format meeting (Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia) occurred on October 19 with the permanent members of the Security Council. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.
"The President of the Russian Federation informed the permanent Security Council members on the progress of discussions at a recent meeting in Berlin in the format of Normandy Quartet, as well as the subsequent conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande on the Syrian problems", reads the statement.
In addition, the meeting discussed the situation around Aleppo in humanitarian break context.
"The meeting participants exchanged views on the beginning of the operation for the liberation of Mosul. Concerns have been raised in connection with a potential overflow of militants into Syria, as well as an abrupt increase in the flow of refugees", added the press-service of the Kremlin.
