President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has stated that Moscow is ready to discuss the extension of the Normandy format after the elections in Verkhovna Rada. This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency.

“We didn’t refuse from any conversational styles, including the Normandy format. However, we would be able to speak about something after holding of parliamentary elections in Ukraine,” Putin said.

He emphasized that both the Normandy format and top meetings should be perfectly organized.

Putin also asked the other participants of the Normandy format to react.

“For example,  as I know, in two weeks, Mrs. Theresa May stops working as the British Prime Minister. It is unclear under what conditions she would be invited to the meeting. Does she agree or not? We do not know the response of the American Administration, as well as of German and French position. These are the questions that are still need to be solved,” the Russian president said.

He has added that Russia has never refused from a useful partnership. The offer to extend the Normandy format looked interesting to Putin.

As it was reported earlier, on July 8 President Zelensky offered Putin to hold negotiations on the situation in  Donbas in Minsk in the presence of spokesmen of the USA, France, and the UK.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine did not refuse from any diplomatic forms in regulating the situation in the Donbas.
