At a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, the parties agreed on a second tranche of $ 500 million. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA Novosti.

According to him, the $ 500 million tranche was discussed during today's talks.

"This is the second tranche. It was previously announced before all the stories with the plane," said Peskov.

He stressed that, as planned, the tranche should be transferred by the end of June.

"There are no obstacles for this," Peskov added.

Earlier Putin and Lukashenko held talks, they lasted five hours. The next day, the leaders of the countries met once again in an informal setting in Sochi.

We are talking about a Russian loan, an agreement on which Moscow and Minsk signed in 2020. Against the backdrop of protests after the presidential elections in Belarus, Lukashenko agreed that Russia will finance its neighbor for $ 1.5 billion in "this difficult moment".

During talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, Belarusian head of state Alexander Lukashenko complained about Western pressure. According to Lukashenko, he brought documents that allegedly clarify the story of the landing of the Ryanair plane, Deutsche welle reports.

"I will show you some documents. You will understand what is happening. There is an attempt to shake things up to the level of August last year," Lukashenko said, explaining the sanctions agreed by the European Union due to the forced landing of a Ryanair flight at Minsk airport.

According to President of Beluars, the restrictive measures of Brussels will negatively affect the state-owned airline Belavia, which "has nothing to do" with the incident.
