President of Russia Vladimir Putin plans to hold a bilateral meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky within Normandy Format Summit as TASS reported citing Spokesperson of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
“(We plan, - 112.international) to hold so important bilateral meetings with President Macron and German Chancellor Merkel and President of Ukraine Zelensky,” Peskov reported.
As we reported earlier, the Normandy format meeting of the countries' leaders is scheduled for December 9 and will be held in the Palais de l'Élysée in Paris. The Office of the President of Ukraine in its turn confirmed that all sides agreed on the date of the Normandy Format summit – December 9, Paris.
However, Kremlin spokesman urges not to overestimate expectations from the Normandy summit. Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the Russian President, reiterated it is necessary to pass a law on the special status of Donbas as part of the Minsk agreements.
Earlier Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the elections in occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions might take place only according to Ukrainian legislation.
