Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron are in a meeting, according to Interfax.

The meeting is held in Atlantic hotel.

Heads of states and governments from all over the world arrived in Hamburg, Germany, invited by Chancellor Angela Merkel, so as to participate in the G20 summit; the event is slated for July 7 and 8.

19 countries and the EU join the event, along with international organizations such as the UN, the IMF, the World Bank and the World Trade Organization.

G20 remains the main forum for international cooperation on financial and economic issues. Leaders of the world discuss topics related to global economic growth, regulation of international trade and financial markets. Climate changes, development policies, labor market, digital technologies and fighting terrorism also make the agenda of the forum.

According to Angela Merkel, G20 member countries should prove that they ‘act as a united front’.

The summit is held amidst mass protests in Hamburg; the situation, however, is under control.
