Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation on the sharp exacerbation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The details of the conversation were reported by the Kremlin press service.
The conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side. The Russian leader expressed serious concern about the resumption of large-scale armed clashes.
"It was noted that now it is important to take all the necessary efforts to prevent further escalation of the confrontation, and most importantly, it is necessary to stop hostilities," the Kremlin said.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced that it had taken control of seven settlements in Fizuli and Jabril regions in Nagorno-Karabakh. Colonel-general Zakir Hasanov, the minister of defense of Azerbaijan, declared this according to AZE.
The villages of Garakhanbeyli, Garvend, Horadiz, Yukhary Abdurahmanli, Fizuli region, Boyuk Marjanly, and Nuzgar of Jabril region, as well as a number of dominant heights, were taken under control.

At the same time, press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia Shushan Stepanyan stated that the messages of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan about taking control of settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh do not correspond to reality.
"This is another provocation of Azerbaijani propaganda," she added.
