U.S. President Donald Trump could have taken the wrong position in the whole story about Russian interference with the U.S. presidential election. CNN wrote that quoting ex-CIA director John Brennan and former Director of U.S. National Intelligence James Clapper.

‘Brennan said Trump was in effect "giving Putin a pass," which invited other countries to seek to sway Trump. Clapper concurred, saying, "I do think both the Chinese and the Russians think they can play him," CNN wrote.

This is how the two former leaders of intelligence agencies described Trump’s statement about Putin persuading him Russia did not interfere with the U.S. presidential election.

Earlier, Trump told the press he faced Putin with the topic of Russian interference with U.S. presidential race in 2016; the Russian leader denied any involvement of his country in it.
