U.S. Charge d'Affairs in Ukraine William Taylor believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin interacts with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky more often than with Petro Poroshenko as UNIAN reported.

“President Putin answered three calls from President Zelensky and I do not think that he answered so many calls from President Petro Poroshenko,” Taylor stated.

He noted the certain progress and presence of potential for positive results in the dialogue between Zelensky and Putin.

According to Taylor, the Ukrainian president achieved great victory by returning Kremlin prisoners to the homeland.

Earlier William Taylor stated that there are signs that the Russian authorities have the will to leave the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea.

On September 7, the prisoners’ exchange took place between Kyiv and Moscow in 35 for 35 format.

24 Ukrainian sailors and 11 political prisoners - already ex-political prisoners - captured by Russia over the past five years, returned to Ukraine. Faces of the released Ukrainian seamen, filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, left activist Oleksandr Kolchenko, journalist Roman Sushchenko, Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov and the rest of former captives were seen in the crowd.
