Putin arrives in Paris for meeting with Macron

The Russian and French leaders will discuss issues of Ukrainians illegally detained and imprisoned in Russia

The civilian aircraft with Russian president Vladimir Putin landed in Paris. The Russian leader is to negotiate with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Putin’s press service reported on Monday, May 29.

The sides are going to talk through wide range of questions; first of all, they will discuss further efforts aiming to fight terrorism, as well as solving local and regional conflicts such as Syrian crisis and Donbas conflict. The leaders are also to talk about prospects of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, economy, culture and humanitarian field.  

Earlier today, the Kremlin said Putin will be ready to discuss the issues related to Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia. Previously, Macron received the letter from relatives of Ukrainians who were detained, judged or put behind the bars in Russia under political motives.
