Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron the situation in Ukraine. Press-service of head of the Russian Federation reports.

"The main attention is paid to the situation in Ukraine - taking into account the preparations for the summit scheduled for December 9 in Paris in the" Norman format ". It is emphasized on both sides that holding such a meeting should really contribute to the speedy and full implementation of the Minsk agreements," - the press service noted.

Putin informed Macron about the transfer of three warships to the Ukrainian representatives on the Black Sea today.

As we reported, The Office of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that all sides agreed the date of the Normandy Format summit – December 9. The sides also discussed the economic cooperation of both states and agreed to continue the bilateral dialogue during the official visit of Macron to Ukraine.

Earlier Macron stated that the leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine will meet in Paris on December 9 to intensify the efforts on the search for the peaceful settlement of Donbas Conflict.

Earlier Russia considered the possibility of participation in the Normandy Format summit after signing of Steinmeier formula by the Ukrainian side. The disengagement of forces in three areas should precede the implementation of Steinmeier formula.

The disengagement of forces took place in Stanytsia Luhanska and Zolote, Luhansk regions.
