Ukraine's Presidental Administration

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the purpose of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is to strike at Ukraine and many members of the EU and NATO. Poroshenko wrote this on his Facebook account.

"Nord Stream-2" is not an economic project, but the project is absolutely political. Its goal is to strike at Ukraine and on many other members of the EU and NATO. The further, the more the EU countries understand the real purpose of the Nord Stream-2, "Poroshenko noted.

Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky, in his address to the European Parliament, said that the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline was a political project and would strengthen the EU's dependence on Russia.

"Nord Stream-2" is the project of the main gas pipeline from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea, over 1200 km in length, which is an extension of the "Nord Stream". The Nord Stream project envisages construction and operation of two gas pipeline lines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas a year from the coast of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany. Its route runs in parallel to the existing main gas pipeline.
