The former head of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, will again be nominated for the post of head of the regional government. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the agency, this proposal was made by the party headed by him "Together for Catalonia", which has 34 mandates out of 135 in the parliament.
As noted, the nomination of Puigdemont will be formally put forward until May 14.
Previously, the media reported that the former head of the government of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, considered the possibility of escaping the persecution of the Spanish leadership in Russia.
After the October 1 referendum on the independence of Catalonia and the ensuing clashes, Puigdemont fled to Belgium. The Spanish court issued a warrant for the arrest of Puigdemont, he was declared in European wanted list, but the authorities of Belgium released the politician and four of his associates.
