Iran will be held responsible for the crash of the UIA (Ukraine International Airlines) plane as such crimes have no statute of limitations. The Ukrainian side will seek fair compensation for the relatives of the victims. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of the accident's anniversary.
According to him, those responsible for this catastrophe will be brought to justice.
"In the modern world, there is no chance that such a crime will remain without a proper reaction. Such crimes do not have a statute of limitations," Zelensky said.
He also stressed that Iran had pleaded guilty and the parties were intended to punish the perpetrators and obtain the relevant compensation.
"No matter how much time and effort the negotiation process and all the international work will require, we will get all the answers and we will definitely seek the necessary compensation," he added.
As we reported earlier, on January 8, Boeing 737 of Ukraine's International Airlines (PS 752 flight) with 176 passengers aboard crashed in Tehran, not far from Imam Khomeini airport.
11 citizens of Ukraine died in the crash. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the passenger plane crash in the Iranian capital had left no survivors.
