Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Yenin

Iranian authorities have been keeping Ukrainian investigators from interviewing the suspects in the downing of Boeing 737 (flight PS752). Yevhen Yenin, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine said so on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.

According to the official, Iran did not pass the Ukrainian side the necessary documents related to the case.

"We will never trade the truth for money. Last time, we had a decent conversation about increasing transparency between our bodies of pre-trial investigation really good, but today, we did not get a single document from Iran, no information that they promised to pass us within a short period of time. That's why we continue to insist on living up to agreements, and then we can talk about continuing the negotiation process", Yenin said.

According to him, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly said that the size of compensation that would be discussed with Iran would strongly depend on how much the Iranian side wants to cooperate with the Ukrainian colleagues. It's about finding out the details of the tragedy, and the development of mechanisms that would save people from such incident occurring in the future. Only after that, the issue of compensation will be solved.
