On Saturday, March 2, police detained nine people during the "yellow vests" protest movement in Paris, reports Le Parisien.
On Saturday at least four rallies were scheduled at the French capital. The procession, which was considered the main one, changed the agreed route at the last minute, after which the police used special equipment.
The first clashes began in the morning in Nantes, when some demonstrators also wanted to pass through uncoordinated streets. The police used tear gas.
The organizers say they want to maintain pressure on the government, since the two-month "big discussion" initiated by President Macron for ordinary French people to express their views on the economic and democratic issues of the country ends this month.
We recall that the "yellow vests" hold protests on Saturdays, starting from November 17, 2018. At first they protested against rising prices and taxes, and later the action turned into an expression of dissatisfaction with the government’s policy, which, in their opinion, was not trying to solve the financial problems of the ordinary citizens.
The French security services investigate the possible foreign interference into the protests of 'yellow vests' after the particular messages on the social networks. Jean-Yves Le Drian, the Foreign Minister of France made such statement as Bloomberg reported.
“The General Secretariat of the national defense holds the investigation and we need to wait for the results. I cannot judge until the facts are established,” the minister said.
The law enforcers of Paris investigate the possible interference of the foreigners to the mass unrests along with the specialists of the diplomatic services. A lot of accounts on the social networks supposedly connected with the Russian Federation are suspected in the spread of the messages on the unrests in French cities during the “yellow vests” protests.
