Approximately 500 people participated in protest rallies in Belarus on September 8. 121 were apprehended. Press secretary of the Belarusian Interior Ministry Olga Chemodanova posted this on Telegram.
"106 individuals have been brought to detention facilities within pre-trial restrictions", reads the message.
According to the Ministry, ten rallies took place in various cities of Belarus on Tuesday.
As is known, on September 6, 633 people were detained during the March of Unity in Belarus, which took place on September 7. The overall number of protesters made some 31,000 people.
The protest movement in Belarus unfurled last month, as the Central Election Committee released the official results of the presidential election. Protesters claimed the elections were rigged, and thus were unfair. The first rallies took place on the same day, August 9. Law enforcers apprehend common protesters and leaders of the opposition. The EU demands that the Belarusian government release the detainees and observe the right of citizens for peaceful rallies. At least five people passed away in clashes with the riot police.
