A protest against the words of President Miloš Zeman on annexed Crimea was held near the presidential residence in Prague, Czech Republic, as Radio.cz reports.

The protesters held banners saying “Czech Republic is not Zeman”. The trend was started a few days ago by a Czech musician and is a response to Zeman’s address during the PACE, in which he said that the annexation of Crimea is a solved case.

After this, people went to social media to share their photos with a hashtag #czechrepublicisnotzeman, in this way emphasizing their disagreement with their president and phrasing their support for Ukraine.

As it was reported earlier, during his speech at the PACE, Zeman said that the annexation of Crimea is a solved case and offered to resolve the issue by Russia giving a compensation to Ukraine.

After the statement caused a backlash, Zeman said he wouldn’t apologize for it, as it’s his personal opinion.
