Protesters rally near President's Office, demand to relieve Acting Health Minister of her duties

Hundreds of protesters approached the President's Office building in Kyiv; they came there for a rally, demanding to remove Acting Health Minister Ulyana Suprun from this office. UNN news agency reported that on August 13.

"We don't mind the healthcare but it has to be a high-touch healthcare", organizers of the rally said.

Hundreds of people, most of them medics and representatives of medical communities said they came there "to find consensus in terms of the further healthcare reform".

People chanted "Suprun, go away!" and "Suprun, shame on you!". 

Andriy Huk, one of the coordinators said that over the last three years, the Ukrainian government showed no capability of implementing the healthcare reform.

President's counselor Mykhailo Radutsky approached the protesters for a dialogue.
 
 
Ulyana Suprun has been serving as Acting Healthcare Minister of Ukraine since summer 2016. In February 2019, the court banned her from working in this office; however, only a few days after that, the government interfered and canceled the ban.
