The Prosecutor General's Office will not appeal against the sentence of ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the state treason case. Yuriy Lutsenko reported this, as Interfax-Ukraine reports this.
Lutsenko outlines that it is necessary to focus on proving his guilt in other crimes.
“I decided not to appeal against the sentence of Yanukovych”, said Prosecutor General.
As we reported earlier, on January 24, Obolon district court of Kyiv sentenced Yanukovych to 13 years behind the bars (in absentia) for the state treason and aiding Russia in waging the aggressive war against Ukraine. Another charge, the one with the attempt on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, was taken off him.
