Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has released the evidence, which confirms the involvement of MP Valeriy Dubil to blackmailing presidential candidate Yuriy Tymoshenko.
Lutsenko reported that on his Facebook page.
He said that Dubil coordinated the actions of two men who offered Tymoshenko $ 200,000 in exchange for his bailout from the presidential race. Lutsenko earlier said there's a suspicion against the MP and announced that his lawmaker's immunity would be lifted.
Prosecutor General also released some pieces of evidence confirming that there was an attempt to buy votes in favor of another candidate, namely Yulia Tymoshenko.
The law enforcers searched Dubil-owned property and found the funding plans and money, which had nothing to do with the electoral fund. They also took the draft plan of buying the votes in three regions across Ukraine, 45,000 votes per district. The goal was to make sure that the candidate wins in the first round of the election.
Thursday, February 28, Ukraine’s Investigation Bureau summoned Dubil for questioning on the case of bribing voters.
“I can confirm that the State Bureau of Investigation summons member of Parliament Dubil for questioning tomorrow. He is not deprived of the parliamentary immunity, he can come to the questioning on a voluntary basis. The questions the investigator has to ask him are obvious for everyone,” he noted.
The representatives of the Prosecutor General Office stated that the case in which Dubil is involved surprises with the amounts of funding, allegedly it is about hundreds of millions of hryvnias.
“There are some complaints for Dubil, as it was him who, according to our evidence, including audio files recorded by SBU in a legal way, who coordinated and organized payment for the technologists, from Russian in particular, who were organizing a network for the elections, which was funded0from beyond of campaign fund. The sums of funding are impressive. It is about hundreds of millions of hryvnias,” Lutsenko said.
Earlier, Yuriy Tymoshenko, the presidential candidate of Ukraine was suggested almost $200,000 for his withdrawal from the elections. Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General, reported this on Facebook.
“The General Prosecutor’s Office together with State Investigation Bureau and Security Service of Ukraine detained three persons who were trying to give $200,000 to the presidential candidate Yuriy Tymoshenko for his refusal from running for the presidency”, - the report said.
It should be noted, that the presidential applied to the General Prosecutor’s Office after several attempts to influence Yuriy Tymoshenko. The culprits are detained under the article 157 part 3 (the impediment of the electoral process)
