Prosecutor General of Ukraine to file resignation letter when Parliament starts working

Yuriy Lutsenko, Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced he would submit a resignation letter as soon as the Ukrainian parliament starts working. NV.ua quoted the official as saying.

According to Lutsenko, he told President Zelensky that he would file the letter for consideration of the new speaker of the Parliament.

"I'm ready for this. I'm just waiting for the speaker's name to be announced. As soon as the Parliament convenes and forms the regulatory bodies, I will submit the resignation letter on my own request", Lutsenko said.

He expressed confidence that the President and the Parliament will be able to choose and approve the new Prosecutor.

Lutsenko added he would not leave the country after leaving the office.

Replying to the question whether he assumes there could be criminal cases against him, Lutsenko said that there are up to 15 NABU cases, in which he is involved. But he said he was confident that there was no corpus delicti in these cases.
