The trial in Euromaidan cases has already stared. This was reported by the General Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Department head Serhiy Horbatyuk on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"If we take the latest news or the results of investigations, for each of the events being investigated, starting from November 30 to February, the work is underway and there are results. In particular, concerning the "student's Maidan"- the performers of crime were identified and the indictment against one of the Berkut fighters who used violence, including against journalists was sent to court. That is, the trial is ongoing," Horbatyuk said.
According to him, the search forces worked well during the last month and detained persons who were wanted - two "Berkut" people and one person who for a long time was suspected of inflicting bodily harm.
At the same time Horbatyuk noted that the Maidan case in which Yanukovych figurates, the case on violent dispersal of protest actions, now has up to 3,500 volumes.
As it was reported earlier Yanukovych’s appeal was added to Euromaidan cases, according to Prosecutor General’s Office. The Ukrainian authority will not open the separate proceeding under Yanukovych’s appeal, in which he requested to investigate the ‘coup d’état’ in Ukraine in February 2014.
