President Volodymyr Zelensky said that authorities plan to expand the Affordable 5-7-9% Loans program to include drought-affected farmers. He said this during a working trip to the Odesa region, the presidential press service reports.
According to him, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture was tasked with preparing a program to support farmers affected by the drought. In particular, it is envisaged to expand the program Affordable 5-7-9% loans.
"I spoke with farmers. We set a task. In addition to the 5-7-9% program, another part of this program will be allocated for farmers. First of all, for those who have suffered from drought in Ukraine," the president said.
The guarantor noted that the government should resolve the issue of crop insurance.
Ukrainian Continental Farmers Group company has sent a cargo ship with 60,000 tons of wheat from the seaport Chornomorsk to Saudi Arabia, this is the first such delivery in 12 years. It is reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
Continental Farmers Group, together with its shareholder, the Saudi Agricultural Investment and Livestock Company, won the tender announced by the Saudi Arabia Grain Organization, the Saudi state purchaser, for the supply of 60,000 tons of wheat.
"I am sure that this is certainly a good indicator and a clear signal of serious investment intentions of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine," said Georg von Nolcken, General Director of Continental Farmers Group.
In turn, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Ukraine Muhammad Suleiman al-Musger noted that Saudi Arabia plans to develop cooperation in the agro-industrial and defense spheres.
