An expert group on Donbas issues, chaired by Oleh Ustenko, the Advisor to the Head of State, discussed the economic recovery of the region, the calculation of military losses and the establishment of a water supply system at the Office of the President of Ukraine. The press service of the President reported it.
Regional development expert Oleksii Starodubov noted the feasibility of creating an economic hub in the Donbas. According to him, a methodology that allows determining the main stages of the economic recovery of Donbas and calculating the losses caused to the region's economy during the hostilities has been already prepared.
The participants of the meeting considered the problems of ecology, water and energy supply of Donbas, the situation at coal enterprises, in particular, the threat of territories’ flooding.
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, expressed his interest in the experts' exploratory work that is related to solving the issues of Donbas water supply.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensly held the phone talks with German’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, during which they discussed the issue of three extra areas for disengagement of forces in Donbas.
