Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that he will seek to resolve tensions with Turkey, reports AP.
According to him, the Government of the Netherlands "will continue to work on de-escalation."
"If Turkey chooses the path of escalation, we will have to react, but we will do everything possible for de-escalation," he said.
Earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the West of arming terrorists in the Middle East. He stated this in Istanbul today. Also he called the Dutch authorities "fascists and remnants of Nazism". He made such statement at the rally in Istanbul.
Moreover, just the day before Erdogan accused Germany of "Nazi practices", which authorities, like in the Netherlands, stood against campaigning of Turkish politicians in the country before the upcoming referendum on expanding the powers of the Turkish president.
