Horst Seehofer, the Prime Minister of Bavaria will arrive in Kyiv on May 24 and meet Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine. DW reports that citing the Bavarian Government Office.
According to the message, Seehofer arrives in Ukraine without business delegation. Barbara Stamm, the President of the Landtag of Bavaria and Beate Mark Bavarian State Minister for European Affairs will accompany him.
According to the source, Seehofer will recount to the Ukrainian President the content of his conversations with Putin concerning Donbas conflict.
‘The aim is to overcome the sanctions. The sanctions are the extraneous body in the relations between countries and we should lift them step by step’, the press service of the Bavarian Government Office added.
At the same time, the speaker emphasized that the Bavarian Government understands that the EU sanctions are caused by peculiar reasons. So, there are no contradictions with the position of the Cabinet of Germany.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany confirmed that the visit of Seehofer is coordinated with Berlin.
Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine met Horst Seehofer, the Prime Minister of Bavaria this February. The sides agreed to establish trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Bavaria using benefits of the Free Trade Area.
