Prices grow for gas, heating and water supplies in occupied Crimea

The social tariffs in the Russian-annexed peninsula will increase once again in July

On January 1, the social tariffs for gas, heating and water supplies in the Russian-occupied Crimea increased. The Russian State Committee for Prices reported that as quoted by

The growth rate made 1.7 percent; on July 1, it is expected to make another 2.4-percent growth.

The current prices increase is due to the rise of the VAT (value-added tax) from 18 to 20 percent.

1,000 cubic meters of gas for households will cost 4,827.08 Russian rubles (USD 69.18), if consumed up to 3,500 cubic meters per year; if the amount of consumed gas exceeds that figure, the price will make RUR 8,627.48 (USD 123.65).  

The water supply tariffs grew by 2.47 percent. Another increase in expected in July; it will make the growth by another 0.2 percent.

In July 2019, the heating price will go up by 12.32 percent.
