During the operation period the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine Zelensky, the editorial board of 112.ua sent requests to the body three times.
According to the law, the Office of the President must provide a response to the request for information no later than within five working days from the date of receipt of the request. In the event that the request involves providing a large amount of information or requires the search for information among a significant amount of data, the Office of the President may extend the period of consideration of the request up to 20 working days, justifying such an extension. The information manager shall notify the requesting party of the extension in writing no later than five working days from the date of receipt of the request.
112.ua received the answer on two of its requests in ten days, without any additional letters about the extension of the term of consideration. The latest request made on September 25 still remains without the response.
As we reported earlier, the press secretary of the president of Ukraine Yulia Mendel blocked the road and held the hands of the journalist Serhii Andrushko when he tried to put the question to the president the day before.
After the scandal gained momentum in the media and social networks, Mendel explained that she did not push, but stopped the journalist. According to her, the journalist tried to work by invading Zelensky's "personal space", which is also his security zone.
Eventually, Initiative 34, a community of independent journalists, calls for the dismissal of the spokesperson of the President of Ukraine Yulia Mendel for "unprofessional and unethical behavior" against journalists.
