President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and government officials discussed the security situation in Donbas, in particular in the Zolote and Petrovske settlements, where troop withdrawal is planned. This was announced by the President’s Office on its Facebook page.
The President noted that the issue of security of Ukrainians and peace in the east of the state is currently a priority for him. In addition, he noted that the benefits for the military will not be canceled, and in the budget for next year financing of social security for them should be planned.
It is known that the meeting was attended by Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief Ruslan Khomchak, Security Service head Ivan Bakanov, MIA head Arsen Avakov, MFA head Vadym Prystaiko, Zelensky's assistant Andriy Yermak and a number of other officials.
"It is expected that next week, government officials will visit Petrovske, Zolotoe and Stanytsia Luhanska to personally make sure that the locals are not in danger," the statement said.
At a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Tuesday, October 1, the parties agreed to begin the withdrawal of troops in Zolotoe (Luhansk region) and Petrovske (Donetsk region).
