The Presidential Office plans to take away the legal right to self-government from Kyiv citizens and appoint a person controlled by it to the city’s leadership. This is stated in an article of Dilova Stolytsia newspaper.

“New head of the presidential administration (now called the Presidential Office) Andriy Bogdan began actively lobbying for the appointment of the Kyiv Administration head, without asking the opinion of the people of the capital - according to the old Yanukovych's scheme,” the newspaper writes.

According to Dilova Stolytsia, the attempts of the new administration to take advantage of the old scheme, quite expectedly, caused a storm of indignation among the Kyivans, who in this way actually is impossible to manage their city.

“This decision, if it is still made, will mean a rollback of democracy in Ukraine to the times of Yanukovych, Pshonka (ex-Prosecutor General, - ed.) and other odious figures of the“ family. ”This perspective contrasts very much with the declarations of the new team about renewing power, democracy, transparency, and makes that the new administration seeks authoritarianism and total control over the inhabitants of the capital," the publication says.

Current Kyivan-elected mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko also called the imposition of the Kyiv head illegal. In addition, he said that the Office of the President illegally imposes on him the "looking men" - director general of "1 + 1" TV channel Oleksandr Tkachenko and the scandalous developer, previously dismissed from the Kyiv administration Andriy Vavrysh.
