The first tour of presidential elections starts in the Czech Republic today, Jan. 12, as Ceskatelevize.cz informs.

The vote is to last two days. The polls will open at 14:00 Friday and will close at 22:00. On Saturday they will be open from 8:00 to 14:00.

Preliminary results are to come in on Saturday. If none of the candidates gets a majority of votes, there will be a second tour on Jan. 26-27.

Nine candidates aim for the President’s post, including the current head of State Miloš Zeman, who is one of the leaders of the campaign. His main opponent is 68-year-old Jiří Drahoš.
