Assistant to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak noted that there were no dates for official visit of the Head of the Ukrainian state to the US yet, but he expects that they may be settled soon, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"There are no dates yet. Mr. Pompeo said they should be set soon. I think this visit (U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Kyiv – 112 International.) reinforced the development of Ukrainian-American relations, a good trend that has emerged," Yermak stated.
Andriy Yermak believes that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Ukraine was another step showing that Ukraine-US relations are taking a new leap. "I think they (the US – ed.) will now have all their internal impeachment proceedings over and so on. I think we should get a date for the visit soon. And I am pretty sure it will be President Zelensky’s historic visit to the United States," he noted.
As we reported earlier, Mike Pompeo said that the State Department was working on a new meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We work on many things with them (the Ukrainian leadership - ed.). When the time comes - they are both busy people - we will find a suitable opportunity for him (Zelensky - ed.) And the president (Trump - ed.) To meet. Do you remember that they met in New York in January or, sorry, in September. I am sure they will meet again somewhere,” U.S. Secretary of State said.
