President of Moldova offers to hold referendum on reintegration of Transnistria

Moldovan President Igor Dodon claimed that the way of the reintegration of Transnistria would be decided at the referendum, Deschide.md reports.

He noted that the decision should be adopted after the Parliamentary election.

‘After the Parliamentarian elections, we will discuss specific scenario on the ways of the reintegration, it is very important that every form of the reintegration, coexistence to be discussed with the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in terms of the referendum,’ the President stressed.

After Moldova adopts its decision, it will be submitted for the consideration of the international community. At the same time, Dodon noted that after the way of the conflict resolution is chosen, the located there forces will have to abandon the region.

Reportedly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic refused to support the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Republic according to the resolution of UN General Assembly from June 22, 2018. President Igor Dodon has also condemned the adoption of the document.
