President of Moldova Maia Sandu will arrive in Ukraine on January 12 with an official visit. Igor Zhovkva, adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, wrote about this according to ZN.UA.
"We will start the New Year with a reset of bilateral relations with Moldova - on January 12, the newly elected President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Ukraine, which will be her first since her election," Zhovkva said.
Earlier, the President's Office announced a visit to Ukraine by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Former Prime Minister of Moldova and leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu won the presidential elections in the country in the second round. According to the Central Election Commission, she gained 57.75% of voters' support, while her opponent Igor Dodon received 42.25%.
The inauguration of Maia Sandu took place on Thursday, December 24, at the Palace of the Republic.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Maia Sandu on becoming the winner of the presidential election in Moldova.
"I congratulate Maia Sandu on winning the presidential election in Moldova. I look forward to further strengthening of relations between Ukraine and Moldova for the European future of our peoples," the statement said.
