The Czech President is to meet President Vladimir Putin on November 21 and the country’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev the next day, November 22. He is also to give a speech at the Russian-Czech business forum.
Zeman is considered a pro-Russian politician, as witnessed by his statements on Ukraine. During his speech at the PACE, the President of Czechia said that the annexation of Crimea is a solved case and offered to resolve the issue by Russia giving a compensation to Ukraine.
After the statement caused a backlash, Zeman said he wouldn’t apologize for it, as it’s his personal opinion. The people of the Czech Republic even held a protest against their President’s words, saying that “Czech Republic is not Zeman”.
