Ukraine should gradually withdraw from the lockdown as a premature end may have shocking consequences. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during an address that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"If we return to the usual rhythm of life tomorrow, it is potentially plus 120,000 deaths by the end of the year. That is why the easing of the quarantine cannot be premature," Zelensky said.
He also thanked all the doctors for help with the prevention of the COVID-10 spread.
As we reported earlier, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made the decision to extend the lockdown in Ukraine until May 22.
"The lockdown will be extended until May 22. We will continue looking at how the situation with the pandemic will develop worldwide and how the things with fluctuation of the morbidity curve will go on," Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmygal stated this during an extraordinary session of the government.
At the same time, there may be some easing for businesses if sanitary measures are taken.
