Ukraine and the United Kingdom will have several major topics for discussion during the second day of the president’s visit in the Great Britain. Iryna Lutsenko, the presidential envoy in the Parliament and the MP from Petro Poroshenko’s bloc said that during her interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.
‘The UK has been one of our major supporters and sponsors on our path of reforms, such as combating corruption and implementing supremacy of law. We do know that after Brexit, the Great Britain will not be a part of Schengen area anymore, so the sides will be obviously discussing the simplified UK-Ukraine visa regime. The UK government has been providing us with a lot of assistance in the defense area; and the president will be also speaking on this issue, mentioning certain projects in this area. There is even a chance that the Great Britain could place some of its defense-related orders at Ukrainian enterprises. So, there’s a lot to talk through,’ Lutsenko said.
The working visit of President Petro Poroshenko to the Great Britain started today, April 18; important negotiations on various topics are slated for the visit's second day - tomorrow, April 19.
