Poroshenko urges Macron to increase pressure on Russia and invites him to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron discussed the situation in Donbas and the need to introduce a UN peacekeeping mission throughout the occupied territory. "The interlocutors welcomed the resumption of meetings in the" Normandy format "at the level of foreign ministers and agreed on further contacts in this format to ensure compliance with the Minsk agreements," the report said.

It is noted that Poroshenko urged Macron to increase pressure on Russia for the speedy release of all Ukrainian hostages, including Oleh Sentsov, Roman Sushchenko and Volodymyr Balukh.

According to the report, Macron congratulated Poroshenko on progress in reforms, and especially with the adoption of the law "On the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court."

The interlocutors also discussed preparations for the Ukraine-EU and Ukraine-NATO summits to be held in Brussels in July.

They expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral economic relations.

The President of Ukraine invited the President of France to make a visit to Ukraine.

We recall, on June 11, the Foreign Ministers of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine took part in the meeting in the "Normandy format", which became the first within six months.
