Today, President Petro Poroshenko will be taking part in the ‘First Moment of Silence’, the ceremony aiming to commemorate the victims of the Second World War. The event will be held at the National Museum of Ukraine’s History in WWII, at 10.40 p.m. (Kyiv time).
The head of the state will also join the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition called ‘The Fourth Generation’, dedicated to Ukraine’s part in the WWII, hosted by the same museum.
On May 9, when Ukrainians also mark the Victory Day, Poroshenko will participate in the memorial ceremony for the fallen in the Second World War. Later that day, the Ukrainian leader will be present at the ceremony of swearing allegiance to the Presidential Regiment, as new recruits will join the line-up of the elite military unit.
