President claimed about the importance of the condemnation of the human rights violation in Crimea by Malta

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko thanked President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca for the extension of the sanctions against Russia due to the aggression in Donbas and the annexation of Crimea. Poroshenko claimed this at the joint briefing with President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

‘From the first moments of the Russian aggression, from the first minutes of the illegal annexation of Crimea we felt your support at the bilateral level within the EU, UN voting and a lot of other cases. I want to thank you Miss President and Maltese people for such clear and consistent attitude in the name of the Ukrainian nation.  We are also grateful for the implementation and extension of the sanctions against Russia due to the aggression in Donbas and the annexation of Crimea. The loud condemnation of Malta and voting in the UN of the violation of the human rights in occupied Crimea are exceptionally important for us’, Poroshenko claimed.

Also, Poroshenko noted that Malta becomes closer to us as the sustainable partner of Ukraine.

As it was reported, Poroshenko held the negotiations with the Maltese President.

Later Poroshenko urged Malta for more active participation in the OSCE SMM in Donbas and emphasized the importance of the provision of the non-prejudicial information by the observers
