Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko expressed his absolute support for Ulyana Suprun, the official who was recently restricted from acting as Healthcare Minister. At that, he admitted that as the head of the state, he does not have any right to comment on the respective court decision, 112 Ukraine news agency reports.
'I'd like to stress that Mrs. Suprun enjoys the full support of the President of Ukraine. And I very much appreciate what we, me and Mrs. Suprun did in terms of the medical reform along with the government, along with the Parliament. I very much appreciate the help that I'm getting as the President in terms of taking care of rural medicine. To a great extent, when Ukraine rose from 153rd to 71st place in the Doing Business ranking - and we carry on, that's for sure, - it was an achievement of our entire team. And I very much appreciate the progress by ten steps that Ukraine showed in the Transparency International ranking, which is another achievement of our common team', he said.
Poroshenko reiterated that the issues of Ukrainian citizenship are solely within his competence. 'I recently met with Mrs. Ulyana, and I do stress that Mrs. Ulyana is the citizen of Ukraine under the decree that President Petro Poroshenko signed, granting her Ukrainian citizenship', Poroshenko said.
