As the EU summit will begin on Thursday in Brussels, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko intends to visit the Belgian capital. In particular, the head of the Ukrainian state will meet NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The officials are expected to make the joint statement for the press.
Poroshenko will also meet with EU leaders – President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, and President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz. The parties will talk through the latest development in Donbas and Crimea, the status of Minsk agreements and prospects of sanctions against Russia – for its ongoing aggression in Ukraine. Reforms in Ukraine and further steps to implement the EU-Ukraine visa free regime will also be discussed.
