Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine delivered a speech at the annual Munich Security Conference in Germany. The top official joined the annual security forum in Germany on Friday.

Russian aggression in Ukraine

Currently, we can do nothing but admit that the hybrid action led by Russia is gradually turned into a full-scale hybrid world war. We should withstand Russia's attempts to destroy our unity and our democracies. The Kremlin knows no limits in its concealed intentions. No country knows Russia's hybrid tactics the way Ukraine does.

Donbas conflict and Russia's stance towards Minsk agreements

Despite all challenges, Donbas may become a successful example of peaceful regulation of violent conflict. For that to happen, Russia just needs to abide by Minsk agreements, namely say yes to the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Donbas, - something I offered previously. Currently, Russia has a chance to show some readiness for consensus and agree to UN peacekeepers' presence in the occupied Donbas.

EU and NATO membership in Ukraine

Keep the doors open for Ukraine, be it the EU or the NATO. Remember: main achievements in the security area come from expansion and transformation - not from steps back and status quo preservations. This will give us a chance to stop the Kremlin's alternative agenda from proceeding; it is based on lies, violence and disrespect for human rights. This will deprive Russia of the tools it has been using to de-stabilize countries.
