President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko commented on the negotiations, which were held between the leaders of the militants Plotnitsky and Zakharchenko and the MP Nadiya Savchenko.
According to the president, such contacts with militants are not going to benefit neither Savchenko herself nor the Ukraine. Poroshenko expressed his opinion during his visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region, "Interfax-Ukraine" reports.
"I'm very sorry, because this woman went through the serious test and I think that these steps are not good either for her or for the country," Poroshenko said.
On December 12 it became known that MP Nadiya Savchenko secretly met with the leaders of the "DPR" and "LPR" in Minsk.
Security Service of Ukraine stated that this meeting was not agreed on. Savchenko was summoned to SBU for questioning, where she confirmed the fact of negotiations regarding hostages which, according to her, were quite effective.
